Understanding Pay Settings
Examples below illustrate how HOURS uses your settings; your employer's pay rules may differ.
Base Salary
Your fixed monthly salary before overtime.
Example: 180 KWD monthly salary plus 20 KWD overtime gives 200 KWD before deductions.
OT Rate
The amount earned for each overtime hour.
Example: 3 eligible overtime hours × 0.750 KWD = 2.250 KWD extra.
Regular Shift Hours
The hours considered a normal workday.
Example: With 9 regular hours, a 12-hour paid shift can include 3 overtime hours.
Unpaid Break
Break time deducted from your total working hours.
Example: A 12-hour shift minus a 60-minute unpaid break leaves 11 paid hours.
Currency Label
The currency used to display your earnings.
Example: KWD displays amounts in Kuwaiti dinars; changing the label does not convert money.
Timezone
The local time HOURS uses for shifts, reminders, and alarms.
Example: Asia/Kuwait uses Kuwait local time (UTC+3) for a 6:00 AM shift.
Save Preferences
Saves your updated pay and work settings.
Example: After changing your regular hours from 9 to 8, tap Save preferences to apply them.
Weekly Day Off
Set your usual weekly rest days. Your imported or confirmed shifts remain unchanged.
Select each regular day off, or none if your schedule rotates.
Personal reminders
Work shifts, rest days and salary forecasts. Scheduled on this device, only for your account.
Alarms follow Confirmed and Predicted shifts. A change to your shift automatically changes the alarm time.
New Alarm
Applies to all Confirmed and Predicted shifts, including when your schedule changes.
Reminders follow your HOURS account timezone. Android may deliver them a little later to save battery. Changing or removing a shift updates its future reminders when HOURS synchronizes.
HOURS announcements
General HOURS updates and announcements. Separate from your private shift reminders.
You can turn announcements off at any time. Android may also require notification permission.
This sends one test notification directly from this phone. It does not subscribe you to announcements or enable location tracking.
Your privacy
Your work and earnings records are personal. Your information is not shared with other members of the app.
Your preferences and records stay with your personal workspace. Updates are designed to preserve your saved information. Access to your account may require authorization. This app does not verify worksite presence.
